Illustrated Mediterranean Kitchen Tools
I created this Illustrated Mediterranean Kitchen Tools blog series to draw and document some of the cooking gadgets and utensils used across the different Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food cultures. These include Italian oil pourers and pasta makers, Moroccan Tajines, Tunisian and Algerian ceramics, handmade Lebanese Kibbeh grinders, Turkish coffee makers, and more.
Kitchen Tools of the Middle East, the Levant and North Africa
This blog series covers both traditional and vintage Middle Eastern, North African, and Mediterranean kitchen tools from different time periods. This is including pre-historic times, the 8th and 19th centuries, and the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Traditional, tribal, and folk cooking utensils used in different urban and rural communities across the MENA region, will also have their place in this updatable blog series. These food and travel illustrations also include table-settings and handcraft traditions that surround the making and usage of these culinary tools.
Illustration Mediums and Art Supplies
I love to illustrate kitchen tools using different art supplies and mediums, such as fineliners with alcohol markers, ink with watercolour, gouache, and more. Artwork created with analogue mediums is usually scanned and arranged in a digital collage as a poster, or in different other compositions.
