Illustrated Travel Stories
I started this Illustrated Travel Stories blog series as an excuse to illustrate cultural and wanderlust stories about my sunny Mediterranean region. That’s why I love creating travel artworks that are inspired by Mediterranean, Levantine, Middle Eastern and North African arts, crafts, patterns and textures.
From Italy to the World
This illustration blog series starts in Italy and the Mediterranean and moves to explore other countries in the region (and beyond), like Turkey, Lebanon, Cyprus, Morocco, UK, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan and Thailand. The dream is to explore the food scene and cultural traditions across the Mediterranean sea basin and in other cities and regions across the three continents I’ve been to.
Travel Illustration Style
Over the years, I have developed a travel illustration style centred around pen-and-ink line art with a variety of other materials, like watercolour, gouache, and alcohol markers. This said, I sometimes use digital input with my scanned analogue artwork to complete my illustrations.
Three Sub-Series
This blog post series is also home to three sub-categories, namely: Illustrated Italy Culinary Tour, Illustrated Maps (coming soon), and Architectural Illustration (coming soon).
