Illustrated Italy Culinary Tour
I thought about starting this illustrated Italy Culinary Tour blog series right after an intense bus tour across Southern Italy with my husband, followed by a brief stint in the northern city of Milan (Milano).
Illustrated Travel Sketchbook
For this illustrated foodie adventure, I carried a small sketchbook in my bag, and kept a larger and heavier one at the hotel for evening-time sketching. I made sure to document the spectacular foods we tried and the places we went to in a series of quick pen-and-ink sketches. I then used these rough sketches as is in the illustrated maps shared in this series.
Italian Food Culture
This was the start of my deep-dive into Italy’s rich food culture, which helped facilitate various illustration commissions with Italian clients in the hospitality and agri-food sectors. This series will showcase visits to other regions and cities across beautiful Italy, including Arezzo, Puglia, and Bari.
